So, how do you start organizing?

One way to get organized is to create a folder for your marketing department with a hierarchical approach. This top-level folder can help to keep track of all of your marketing assets, including images, videos, presentations, and documents. By keeping everything in one place, you can easily access the files you need and stay organized.

Additionally, you can share the folder with other members of your team so that everyone has access to the same resources. Creating a central repository for your marketing department can help to improve communication and collaboration among team members.

Create Folders For Each Type Of Marketing Asset

Within the top-level folder, you will add sub-level folders which will contain each type of marketing asset.

To effectively market your business, it’s important to create a variety of marketing assets, such as images, videos, and marketing collateral. To help keep these assets organized and easy to access, it’s helpful to create dedicated folders for each type of asset.

For instance, you could create a folder for images where you can store all of your branded photos and graphics, as well as another folder for videos where you can organize your product demos and promotional clips.

Additionally, you may also want to set up separate folders for other types of marketing assets like sales collateral or e-books, ensuring that all of your important marketing materials are stored in one convenient location.

With the right organizational structure in place, you can easily stay on top of your marketing efforts and make the most out of every opportunity to connect with potential customers.

Create Folders For Each Campaign Or Project

Within the sub-level folders, you can add more folders, which could indicate different marketing campaigns or projects that will contain relevant marketing assets.

Creating folders for each campaign or project allows you to easily track the performance of your materials, like one-pagers, product messaging templates, etc. It gives you a clear picture of how well your campaigns are performing and where improvements might need to be made.

Further, by organizing materials into folders, you can quickly identify which campaigns or projects are most successful, giving you insight into what types of marketing techniques work best in different situations. And if you need to edit or update any materials, having everything organized and easy to find will make it much simpler to keep all of your content up-to-date and relevant.

Whether you are running multiple campaigns simultaneously or working on individual projects one at a time, having an organized folder structure can help you stay on top of all of your marketing efforts without letting anything slip through the cracks.

With this in mind, it is essential to create folders that are tailored specifically to your needs and make efficient use of space so that you can access the information that you need quickly and easily. Overall, organizing your marketing efforts into folders is an efficient and effective way to manage and optimize your campaigns for maximum success.

Review and Update Your Assets

Given the ever-changing landscape of marketing, it’s important to regularly review and update your assets to ensure they’re performing as well as they can be. This includes tracking their performance over time and making adjustments as needed.

For example, you might find that a particular blog post is no longer getting as much traffic as it used to. In that case, you could update the post with new information or revise the title to make it more appealing to readers. Or, you might discover that a social media campaign isn’t generating the engagement you want. In that case, you could try a different strategy or adjust your marketing messaging approach.

All the folders are organized based on different levels. These are:

Level 1: The top-level folder. You would name it “Marketing Department,”

Level 2: The sub level folder. You will include a wide range of categories here including; teams, people, projects, marketing collateral, analytics, etc.

Level 3: Same as above, but here you will add more specific content to each of the above mentioned assets. This level is completely optional, it depends upon you if you want to make any more folders.

Level 4: If you want to track your campaigns on a monthly basis, consider adding folders for reporting files by the month or year they were created.

Level 5: Individual files.

At first glance, this process may seem overwhelming.

But with a few guiding principles in mind, you can quickly get your marketing assets organized and easily accessible.

In our case, we made sure to use consistent and concise file names for all of our files and folders. It helped us stay organized both now and in the future. Now, we are able to group related files together by their filenames alone.

We tried to make use of nested folders to create logical groupings within our overall structure. And finally, we decided to make use of Content Camel for its tag-based filtering feature, and cloud-based file sharing feature that streamlined our efforts even further.

With these tips in mind, organizing your files will become just another routine task that you can complete quickly and efficiently.
